In June of 2010, Kay Broadbent was inspired by the name of her good friend Amy’s dog team. Kay thought it would be a great name for a group. The name was “CrossPaws” and armed with her artistic talents and a terrific name, Kay designed the CrossPaws logo. Vickie, another good friend and dog lover, joined the CrossPaws team soon after, and together the three friends work towards a common goal to help those who cannot help themselves – the dogs.
An estimated six to eight million dogs each year are surrendered to shelters in the US and approximately four million dogs—about one every eight seconds—are put down. Often these dogs are the offspring of cherished family pets. Many of the dogs that died as a result of pet overpopulation could have made wonderful pets.
A solution is possible and it starts with each of us taking one small step: getting our own pets fixed. Spay/neuter is a proven way to reduce dog overpopulation, ensuring that every dog has a family to love them. To help stop further dog overpopulation, consider adopting your next dog from an animal shelter.
CrossPaws is committed to aiding the cause outside of our individual homes. As loving dog owners, we believe we can help those who cannot help themselves. It doesn’t matter how small the effort might be because every bit counts.
How can you help?
With every purchase you make from the CrossPaws line for both pets and the pet owners, CrossPaws will donate a portion of the sale to one of the following charities that have made it there mission to reduce and eventually eliminate the overcrowding and euthanasia of the dog population in US Shelters:
Pinups for Pit Bulls Humane Society FIXIT
SPCA Dogs on Death Row Operation Baghdad
